where to get my belly button pierced?
will the jewelry department in walmart peirce my belly button? or any major stores in a mall? please tell me thanks!
I work on a tattoo/piercing shop so please listen to me when I tell you that even if they were giving away free piercings at Walmart you should NEVER go to anyone other than a real piercer.
It may cost a few bucks more, but you're getting an expert; someone who has been trained not only as a piercer, but in sterilization techniques, how to prevent the spread of blood-borne pathogens, and cross-contamination.
At Walmart and places in the mall they probably use a gun which is horribly dangerous and cannot be properly sterilized. They also won't have the correct equipment or an autoclave to properly sterilize a regular piercing needle in the off chance you get lucky and that's what they use.
You could be setting yourself up for serious pain and infection unless you go to a good shop that knows what they're doing.
If you're unsure, ask around your area and when you find the right place the piercer will put you completely at ease.
So many people are intimidated, but if it's a real professional and clean business they will be nice and understanding. We deal with first-timers all the time and it's our job to make you happy and keep you healthy.
