Tips To Help You Fix E74 Xbox Error Codes
how to fix my xbox safe Has the Red Ring of Death (RROD) finally hit your console, or perhaps the console of someone you know? If it has and you need a way to fix an Xbox 360 from the RROD then this article is going to outline and give some recommendations for you so that you can do this as easily and safely as possible. The repair outlined in this guide is the same repair that has been helping thousands of people for over 2 years. Before we get started I want to first clarify that this method is a self-fix-it method, meaning this is a repair that you can make yourself. The reason that I'm recommending this to you is because:
1. It's the only known method to currently permanently fix an Xbox 360's Red Light Problem
2. It can be done in an hour
3. It has garnered more successful results than the manufacturer provides
Now I'd just like to clarify that many people have chosen to send their systems into the manufacturer for repairs. Many people, upon getting their systems back, got the RROD again. It is because of this reason that the repair outlined in this guide was discovered and passed around to those who have had unsuccessful results with the manufacturer. And since this repair has been able to permanently fix an Xbox 360's red lights, unlike the manufacturer, I am now passing it around to those who need it.
How to Fix an Xbox 360
The first order of business is to make sure that you have all of the necessary tools for this specific repair. Most of the tools you will need are not hard to obtain, many are common household items, and there might be one or two you may need to actually go out and buy. But I'd just like to point out that these tools are cost efficient so it's no big deal. The tools that you will need are as follows:
Required Hardware
- 8 5X10mm Machine Screws (5mm)
- 16 #10 Nylon Washers (5mm)
- 16 Zinc Plated Steel-Flat Washers (5mm)
Required Tools
- 1 T8 and T-10 Torx Screwdriver
- 1 Sturdy flat object, preferably a Knife
- Paper-Clip
- Flat Head Screwdriver
- Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound & Compatible Cleaning Kit
- Pliers
When you've got all of this gear you are ready to make the repair. Now there are essentially only two modifications that need to be made, and they both involve the mother-board. If this sounds daunting don't worry; the way I learned how to make this repair was following the Xbox 360 repair guide that was written by James Dean. This is the repair guide that first introduced this repair in the first place, and he is responsible for the success that people are having. I highly recommend that you use this repair guide to walk you through the entire repair as I can't give you the precise details that you will need in this short article.
Moving on, in order to make these repairs you will first need to disassemble your console. This is completely covered in the repair guide so I won't go any further on that. Next you will need to take your motherboard and remove the pre-existing thermal compound paste that is on the GPU and CPU of the motherboard. This thermal compound is not reliable and does not protect the GPU and CPU well enough to prevent the RROD. In order to fix an Xbox 360's red lights you will need to then re-apply the new thermal compound paste to both the GPU and CPU for a more reliable protective solution. get xbox 360 repair tools
The next step in the repair process involves a small modification to the heat sinks on the motherboard. The repair process will show you all of this in detail but to give you an idea you will first need to remove the X-Clamps that hold the heat sinks in place. Next apply the washers and screws that are apart of our required hardware list, to the heat sinks when re-attaching them so that the heat sinks are better situated and less susceptible to having problems when the system starts to get hot. The problem here is that the X-Clamps didn't fully provide the motherboard with the necessary support it needed when the system got hot. This in turn caused the motherboard to bend when the system got hot and after so much of that it eventually causes serious problems like the RROD. Once you've repaired the overheating issue, a substantial benefit to this specific repair method is that it also solves by default, other errors that the Xbox 360 gets. Errors like 2 and 4 red light errors, game freezes, graphic glitches and the E74 error will Never Hit your system again.
Once these two simple modifications have been made to your system all you will need to do after that is to re-assemble your console. As you can see this method is really straight-forward, is a legit repair, and like I said, takes about an hour to do. These are all substantial benefits; the fact you can have you system repaired by today, In comparison to waiting weeks for the manufacturer to get your system back to you is great! So If you need a way to fix an Xbox 360 from the RROD then I would highly recommend this method to anyone experiencing this problem. Like I said this method has so far been the most successful and has garnered some great results. Also make sure to look into the Xbox 360 Repair Guide written by James Dean in order to properly make this repair to your system. fast xbox fixing guide
